Terms & Conditions

The rules for using Keystring, working with a team, and subscribing when paid billing becomes available.

Effective and last updated 27 August 2026

Agreement to these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of Keystring, including keystring.dev, the web application, transactional services, API keys, and the hosted MCP endpoint. Keystring is operated by Damiano Carradori, Via Antonio Milani 19, 37124 Verona, Italy.

By creating an account, accepting an invitation, connecting an MCP client, purchasing a plan, or otherwise using Keystring, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled.

Eligibility and organizations

You must be at least 18 years old and use Keystring for business or professional purposes. If you use Keystring for a company, client, agency, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Organizations are shared workspaces. Their members can access and edit project content according to the service's organization model. Owners and administrators can manage settings, members, invitations, projects, and billing. Actions taken by authorized members are treated as actions of the organization. You are responsible for inviting only people who should have access and keeping membership current.

Accounts, Google sign-in, and API keys

Keystring uses Google sign-in. You must provide accurate account information, keep your Google account secure, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Your profile is managed through your Google account, while Keystring manages your organizations, sessions, and service access.

API keys authenticate MCP clients as you. Anyone holding a valid key may exercise the Keystring access available to its owner, so keep keys confidential, store them securely, and revoke them immediately if they are exposed. You are responsible for activity performed with your account or API keys unless caused by Keystring's breach of these terms or mandatory law.

The service

Keystring provides JSON import and export, direct multi-language editing, organization collaboration, and optional agent access through MCP. Features may evolve as we improve the core workflow. We will not make a material change that removes paid core functionality during a current billing period without a valid reason, reasonable notice, and an appropriate cancellation or remedy where required by law.

You need a compatible browser, internet connection, Google account, and, for MCP access, a compatible client. Keystring is not a source-code repository or backup service. Export and retain copies of content you cannot afford to lose.

Plans and limits

  • Free: €0 per month, one project per organization, and up to 500 keys per project.
  • Simple: €8 per month for the organization, unlimited projects, and up to 5,000 keys per project.

Limits apply as described in the product at the time of use. Going over a key allowance may restrict actions such as export until usage is reduced or the organization moves to a suitable plan. We may prevent creation of resources above a plan limit.

Simple is currently offered through a waitlist. Joining the waitlist is free, is not a purchase, does not reserve a price or launch date, and does not guarantee access. We may contact you at the email on your account when Simple becomes available.

Paid billing

This section applies only after Keystring enables paid checkout and an authorized organization administrator subscribes to Simple. Enabling these terms does not itself activate billing.

  • Stripe processes checkout and payment. The subscribing organization authorizes Keystring and Stripe to charge the payment method shown at checkout.
  • Simple renews automatically each month until canceled. The price, applicable taxes, billing currency, and total due will be shown before the purchase is completed.
  • An authorized administrator may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and the organization retains paid access until then.
  • Payments are non-refundable and unused time is not prorated except where mandatory law requires otherwise or Keystring expressly agrees to a refund.
  • If payment fails, we may retry the charge and, after reasonable notice, suspend paid functionality or move the organization to Free. The organization remains responsible for valid outstanding charges.
  • We will give advance notice of a material price increase. The new price applies no earlier than the next renewal identified in the notice, and the organization may cancel before it takes effect.

Stripe's own terms and privacy practices also apply to its payment services. Billing administrators represent that they are authorized to purchase and manage the subscription for the organization.

Your content

You and your organization retain ownership of JSON files, keys, translations, project names, logos, and other content submitted to Keystring. You grant Keystring a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, transmit, display, and modify that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service or comply with law. This license ends when the content is deleted, subject to limited backup, legal, and security retention.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit content and allow Keystring to process it. You are responsible for the content's legality, accuracy, and use, including obtaining any notices, consents, or processing instructions required for personal data placed in project content.

Acceptable use

You must not use Keystring to:

  • break the law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or facilitate fraud, harassment, or other harm;
  • access another account, organization, project, or system without authorization, or bypass access controls and plan limits;
  • probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, or interfere with the service or other users, including through uncontrolled automated or MCP loops;
  • distribute malware, malicious code, stolen credentials, or content intended to compromise a system;
  • resell or provide the service as a standalone competing service without written permission; or
  • upload special-category, highly sensitive, regulated, or payment-card data unless its use is lawful, necessary for translation work, and supported by appropriate safeguards and an agreement with Keystring.

Reasonable, authorized use of Keystring's documented MCP tools is allowed. Contact us before security testing or unusually intensive automated use.

Keystring rights

Keystring, its software, visual design, documentation, trademarks, and service content—excluding your content—belong to Damiano Carradori or the relevant licensors. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for your organization's internal business purposes. No other rights are granted.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Keystring available and useful, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, provider failures, security incidents, beta features, and events outside reasonable control may affect availability.

We may change or discontinue features for security, legal, technical, or product reasons. For a material reduction to a paid service, we will give reasonable notice where possible and preserve any remedy required by applicable law. Beta or pre-release features may change or end without the same notice.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Keystring at any time. Authorized members can delete projects and owners can delete organizations through the application. For account deletion or help retrieving personal data, contact legal@keystring.dev. Export project content before deleting access you still need.

We may suspend or terminate access immediately when reasonably necessary for security, illegality, non-payment, or a material breach, including to prevent harm while we investigate. Otherwise, if we end your account or the service for our convenience, we will give at least 30 days' notice where reasonably possible and provide a reasonable opportunity to export content.

After termination, your right to use the service ends. Terms concerning ownership, fees already due, disclaimers, indemnity, liability, and disputes continue where their nature requires. Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Keystring is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that translations are correct, complete, suitable for a market, or legally compliant; your organization remains responsible for reviewing and using its exported content. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you and the organization you represent will defend and indemnify Damiano Carradori against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from unlawful or infringing content you submit, your material breach of these terms, or your unauthorized use of the service. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Keystring's own breach, gross negligence, or willful misconduct. We will give reasonable notice of a covered claim and allow reasonable participation in its defense.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Damiano Carradori nor Keystring will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, or data, arising from the service or these terms, even if the possibility was known.

Aggregate liability arising from the service or these terms will not exceed the fees the relevant organization paid to Keystring during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. For a free account, that contractual cap is zero. These exclusions and caps do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, breach of data-protection obligations, or any liability or statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Governing law and disputes

These terms and disputes relating to them are governed by Italian law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. For disputes with business users, the courts of Verona, Italy have exclusive jurisdiction.

If mandatory consumer law applies despite the business-use requirement, nothing in these terms removes non-waivable consumer protections or the right to bring proceedings in a court required by that law. Before filing a claim, please contact legal@keystring.dev so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for legal, security, technical, or product reasons. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes by email or through the service. Changes will not retroactively increase fees or materially reduce rights for an already-paid period. If you do not agree to an update, stop using the service and cancel any subscription before the update takes effect.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcement is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a transfer of the Keystring business if your rights are not materially reduced. These terms and referenced policies are the agreement about the service.
